We are a boutique hotel located in
Mal Pais, Costa Rica offering a safe haven for all adventurers and
anyone who desires to sit back, relax and enjoy the beauty of Costa
Rica.
La Hacienda Tropical was built with old world charm, grand natural stone
walls and teak wood accents, all set within a tropical haven. We have 5
suites & 2 cabinas. Each suite is special in its own way, with no
two alike. All suites have a private bath and air conditioning and open
to our spacious, yet cozy living & dining area over looking the
oasis pool and gardens. Our private cabinas are separate from the main
hacienda and are equipped with their own kitchenette, bath and front
veranda.

My husband Paul and I have the absolute pleasure to manage La Hacienda Tropical and as your hosts we are happy to direct you in your day's adventure and arrange your activites. Nearby you will find fishing tours, canopy tours, horseback riding, sailing, beaches, surf breaks, shops, restaurants and much more.
Paul an avid surfer enjoys his morning surf and offers guests rides to the surf by way of his "classic" 1969 Jeep comando outfitted with bamboo racks and surf boards. A true surf vehicle if ever there was.
We are happy to prepare dinners for our guests upon request. A favorite is when after a fishing trip, we prepare a fish feast for all. If you catch it we will cook it.
Our caretaker Vincente is always available to lend a helping hand with a smile and prepares a "good ole" Costa Rican breakfast.
